Kantara Chapter 1 trailer arrives on Sept 22

Director-actor Rishab Shetty , who stunned Indian audiences with his 2022 blockbuster Kantara , is all set to return with its much-anticipated prequel, Kantara Chapter 1 . The film, releasing on October 2 , will be available in Kannada, Telugu, and Hindi , and promises to deliver an even bigger cinematic experience. This time, Rishab will be seen in the powerful role of a fearless naga sanyasi , a character steeped in mysticism and action.

The film’s makers have announced that the official trailer will be unveiled on September 22 at 12:45 PM, offering fans their first full glimpse into the world of Kantara Chapter 1 . The announcement, posted on the official Kantara X (Twitter) handle, was captioned: “Get a glimpse into the world of #KantaraChapter1 & witness the rise of a LEGEND.”

The scale of the production is already drawing attention. Action choreographer Todor Lazarov revealed that he turned down two other projects to focus entirely on Kantara Chapter 1 , adding that it took 28 days to film the climax sequence .

The pre-release buzz is massive advance bookings in the United States have already crossed USD 51,000 (approx. ₹43 lakh) across 1,700 theatres, despite minimal promotions.

The original Kantara not only grossed around ₹310 crore worldwide but also elevated Kannada cinema’s reputation on par with Prashanth Neel’s KGF . With its rooted storytelling, divine folklore, and raw performances, it became a cultural phenomenon across India.
