The Kamma Global Federation (KGF) on Friday announced that it will organise the ‘Kamma Mahanadu’, a mega congregation of the Kamma community, on February 8 in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu .

In a statement, the federation said the event aims to bring together members of the Kamma community from different regions to deliberate on issues related to their future, unity and collective development . The community has a population of nearly 2.1 crore worldwide , with a strong presence in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and a growing population in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka .

Explaining the choice of venue, KGF said Tamil Nadu was selected to reflect the community’s expanding footprint in the state and to strengthen its organisational base beyond its traditional strongholds in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Sriperumbudur, located near Chennai , was chosen for its accessibility and capacity to host large-scale gatherings.

The announcement follows the successful World Kamma Summit held in Hyderabad last year , which marked KGF’s first international conference . The summit witnessed participation from thousands of delegates representing several Indian states and foreign countries, highlighting the community’s increasing global presence.

Building on this momentum, the upcoming Kamma Mahanadu is expected to focus on strategies for social, economic and political empowerment of the community.

Jetti Kusuma Kumar, founder and president of KGF, said one of the long-term objectives of the Mahanadu is to work towards greater political representation for the community in Tamil Nadu. He added that the organisation aims to facilitate the election of at least 30 Kamma legislators across political parties to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and eventually secure the post of deputy chief minister in the state.

Organisers said the event would include discussions, resolutions and cultural programmes aimed at strengthening unity and defining a roadmap for the community’s future.
