Kalyandurg MLA Launches Drive to Distribute 7,300 Free Bicycles to Students
Kalyandurg MLA Amilineni Surendra Babu has launched a programme to distribute 7,300 free bicycles to students, aiming to make daily travel to school easier for children in rural areas.
The bicycles are being provided under the Amilineni Vidya Chakram initiative with the support of the SRC Trust. Students in Classes IX and X, as well as Intermediate students, are expected to benefit from the programme.
The distribution drive was launched at the Zilla Parishad High School in Tenagallu village of Kundurpi mandal. Surendra Babu and party observer and State Valmiki Corporation Director Ramakrishna distributed bicycles in the presence of education department officials, teachers, TDP leaders, local representatives and parents.
The MLA said the programme was being implemented with an outlay of Rs 5 crore, supported by the SRC organisation. He credited SRC chairman Rajagopal, along with Venkatesh, Yashwanth, Dharmateja and Avinash, and the organisation’s nearly 7,000 employees for contributing to the initiative.
Surendra Babu also praised Tenagallu for its educational achievements, noting that nine candidates from the village secured teaching jobs through the Mega DSC recruitment process. More than three lakh candidates appeared for the recruitment examination across the State, while about 16,500 secured jobs, he said.
The MLA criticised allegations made by YSRCP leaders against candidates who secured jobs through the DSC process, saying the government was free to investigate claims of irregularities and take action if any wrongdoing was established.
He also assured support to Bharati, a financially disadvantaged student aspiring to pursue law, and promised to establish a library in Tenagallu for local students.
Taking aim at the previous government, Surendra Babu compared its Amma Vodi scheme with the coalition government's Thalliki Vandanam, claiming the latter would benefit all eligible children pursuing education. He also challenged opposition leaders to highlight development works carried out in villages during the previous five years.
On broader political issues, the MLA said the coalition government was committed to protecting people's land rights and accelerating Andhra Pradesh's development. He said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Minister Nara Lokesh, with the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, were working to strengthen development and create employment opportunities.
Calling for collective efforts to develop the constituency, Surendra Babu expressed confidence that the coalition would remain in power for the next 15 years and urged people to work together for the progress of Kalyandurg.
