Justice Ujjal Bhuyan launches website of All Assam Judges association

Supreme Court Judge Justice Ujjal Bhuyan on Sunday launched the official website of the All Assam Judges Association (AAJA) at a ceremony held at the KBR Auditorium, Cotton University, Guwahati.

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Bhuyan said the new website would help improve communication and strengthen unity among judicial officers across Assam. He expressed confidence that the platform would promote better coordination and professional collaboration within the state’s judicial community.

Justice Bhuyan also delivered a lecture on _“Judicial Professionalism, Etiquette and Expectations from Judicial Officers.”_ He emphasised that public trust in the judiciary must remain strong through fair and impartial delivery of justice. “The judiciary should never be seen to be granting any kind of favour,” he said.

He urged district-level judicial officers to act pragmatically and uphold the Constitution in their duties. Highlighting the importance of professional integrity, Justice Bhuyan advised judges to maintain distance from members of other services and conduct themselves with dignity both in public and professional life.

“The district judiciary forms the backbone of our justice system,” he said, adding that a strong and independent lower judiciary is essential for maintaining stability and credibility at the higher levels.

Justice Ashutosh Kumar, Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court, also addressed the gathering and appreciated the initiative.

The launch of the website marks an important step towards enhancing communication, professionalism, and transparency among the judicial fraternity of Assam.
