Justice Manavendranath Roy returns to Andhra Pradesh High Court as Judge

Justice A. Manavendranath Roy has rejoined the Andhra Pradesh High Court as a Judge, taking oath of office on Monday in a brief ceremony held at the High Court premises in Nelapadu. The oath was administered by Chief Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur in the presence of several judges and senior officials.

Justice Roy, who hails from Parvathipuram in the erstwhile Vizianagaram district, began his judicial career in 2002 when he was appointed to the district judge cadre. Over the years, he served in various courts across the Telugu states, earning recognition for his integrity and administrative skills.

In July 2015, he was elevated as the Registrar General of the then common High Court. Later, in June 2019, he was appointed as a Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court after the state bifurcation. In November 2023, he was transferred to the Gujarat High Court, where he continued his judicial service until his recent return.

Following the transfer back to his home state, Justice Roy officially resumed his duties as a Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The ceremony was attended by the Advocate General, Additional Solicitor General, judges of the High Court, and the President of the Bar Association.
