India’s young shooters continued their dominant run at the ISSF Junior World Cup in Cairo, rising to the top of the medal tally with a series of composed and high-quality performances. The highlight of the day was Prachi Gaikwad’s gold in the women’s 50m rifle 3-positions event. Qualifying sixth and starting cautiously, Prachi built momentum across stages before delivering under pressure in the final moments. Her calm finish, marked by crucial high 10s, helped her edge past her closest rival by a slender 0.2-point margin , sealing a memorable victory.
In the women’s 10m air pistol, India secured a dominant one-two finish . Vanshika Chaudhary clinched gold with a confident display, while Sejal Kamble took silver , continuing her consistent run in the tournament. Both shooters had impressed in qualification and carried that form into the final, showcasing control and composure.
Adding to the tally, Naraen Pranav grabbed bronze in the men’s 10m air rifle after a closely fought contest. His late surge kept India firmly in contention before settling for a podium finish.
