Jr NTR-Prashant Neel Film Set for June 11, 2027 Release, Glimpse to Drop on Actor’s Birthday

The much-anticipated collaboration between Jr NTR and blockbuster filmmaker Prashant Neel has finally locked a theatrical release date. The makers have announced that the film will hit cinemas worldwide on June 11, 2027 , positioning the project as one of the biggest pan-India releases lined up for that year.

The announcement was made by Mythri Movie Makers , which shared an intense poster of the actor walking through dust in a powerful silhouette, teasing the film’s rugged tone and scale. Adding to the excitement, the makers confirmed that the first glimpse will be unveiled on May 20 , celebrating Jr NTR’s 43rd birthday and offering fans their first look at the ambitious action drama.

Tentatively titled “Dragon” , the film marks the first collaboration between the actor and the director known for creating larger-than-life cinematic worlds. The project went on floors in April 2025 but experienced several delays, pushing its release from the originally planned 2026 window to 2027.

The film is jointly produced by Mythri Movie Makers, NTR Arts and T-Series , with producers including Kalyan Ram Nandamuri, Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili and Hari Krishna Kosaraju backing the large-scale project.

Industry buzz suggests the movie will feature Rukmini Vasanth as the female lead, while acclaimed composer Ravi Basrur , best known for his work in Neel’s films, will handle the music.

Neel has previously delivered massive hits such as the KGF series and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire , known for their stylised action and grand cinematic scale. Expectations are therefore sky-high for this collaboration, with fans already calling it one of the most anticipated action spectacles in Indian cinema.

Jr NTR was last seen in Devara: Part 1 , directed by Koratala Siva , alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan . With the actor now teaming up with Neel, the upcoming project promises a high-octane action world, massive scale and a powerful mass avatar for the star when it finally arrives in theatres in 2027.
