Farmers at the Mylavaram agricultural market yard have been facing hardship for the past 15 days due to delays in procurement of paddy and maize , drawing sharp criticism from YSR Congress Party leader and former minister Jogi Ramesh .

During his visit on Thursday, Jogi Ramesh inspected the unsold stocks and interacted with farmers, who complained about the lack of timely procurement and fair pricing . He accused the coalition government of failing to ensure a minimum support price and alleged that farmers are being left without adequate assistance.

Targeting Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu , he said the government’s promises were not translating into action on the ground. He also criticised the agriculture and civil supplies departments for what he described as administrative failure in addressing farmers’ concerns.

Jogi Ramesh further attacked Mylavaram MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad , alleging negligence towards constituency issues and lack of response to farmers’ grievances. He claimed that repeated appeals from farmers were being ignored, reflecting poor local leadership.

Referring to the Chief Minister’s upcoming visit to the nearby Tiruvuru constituency , he questioned what explanation would be offered to farmers who have been waiting for relief for over two weeks.

Warning the government of intensified political action, he said the YSR Congress Party would launch statewide protests if the situation continues to be neglected.
