Jio's Secret to Staying No.1? These Q1 Earnings Reveal the Answer
Jio Platforms delivered another strong quarterly performance, reporting a 9.2 per cent rise in net profit for the April-June quarter of FY27, driven by continued growth in its subscriber base, improved average revenue per user (ARPU) and steady expansion of its digital services business.
The Reliance Industries-backed company posted a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 7,764 crore for the quarter ended June 2026, compared with Rs 7,110 crore during the same period last year.
The company's operational performance also remained healthy, with revenue from operations rising 11.8 per cent year-on-year to Rs 39,173 crore , up from Rs 35,032 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The growth reflects sustained demand for Jio's telecom and digital offerings across the country.
A key highlight of the quarter was the improvement in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) , a crucial metric for telecom operators. Jio's ARPU increased to Rs 215.6 , compared with Rs 208.8 a year earlier, registering a 3.3 per cent increase . The company attributed the rise to a better subscriber mix and seasonal trends, although promotional offers for fixed broadband customers had a partial impact on the figure.
Jio also continued to strengthen its leadership in India's telecom market by adding more users. Its customer base expanded 7.1 per cent year-on-year , reaching 53.3 crore subscribers , compared with 49.8 crore in the same quarter last year. The steady increase in subscribers reflects the company's ability to attract and retain customers amid intense competition in the telecom sector.
The latest quarterly performance highlights Jio Platforms' continued focus on expanding its digital ecosystem while improving customer monetisation. Growth in subscriber market share, stronger user engagement and increasing digital services revenue remain key drivers of the company's financial performance.
With rising revenues, higher profitability and a growing customer base, Jio Platforms has begun the new financial year on a strong footing, reinforcing its position as India's leading digital and telecom services provider.
