Jio Platforms Posts Double-Digit Growth: Profit Up 11.3%, Revenue Rises 12.7%
Jio Platforms, the telecom and digital arm of Reliance Industries, delivered a strong performance in the December quarter, reporting an 11.3% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 7,629 crore . The growth was supported by a steady increase in subscriber base, improved monetisation and the continued expansion of its digital services portfolio. In the corresponding quarter last year, Jio had posted a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 6,857 crore , including the share of profit and loss from associates and joint ventures.
The company’s business momentum remained firm as revenue from operations climbed 12.7% to Rs 37,262 crore , compared with Rs 33,074 crore in the year-ago period. Gross revenue rose 12.7% to Rs 43,683 crore , reflecting sustained demand across Jio’s mobility and broadband services. The results highlight Jio’s expanding footprint and its ability to grow topline while strengthening profitability through scale.
A key highlight during the quarter was the improvement in ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) , which increased 5.1% year-on-year to Rs 213.7 , up from Rs 203.3 a year ago. Reports also noted sequential improvement in ARPU, signalling stronger user engagement and rising consumption. Jio stated that ARPU growth was driven by higher customer engagement, but the benefit was partly offset by promotional offers , including incentives linked to unlimited 5G services and fixed broadband plans .
Industry observers attribute Jio Platforms’ continued growth to two primary drivers—rapid 5G adoption and the scaling up of home broadband services , including fixed broadband and Jio AirFiber. The strategy is gradually shifting the company towards higher-value customers, helping lift the quality of revenue rather than relying only on volume-led growth. With rising data usage and growing demand for bundled digital services, Jio’s performance in the quarter further strengthens its position as a key growth engine for Reliance Industries.
