Jindal Global University launches Summer 2026 Study Abroad Programmes across Five Japanese Universities

The OP Jindal Global University (JGU) has announced five Short-Term Study Abroad Programmes (ST-SAPs) for summer 2026, aimed at offering students academic exposure, cultural immersion, and international learning across leading Japanese institutions. The programmes will be held from June 15 to July 4 at the University of Tokyo, Chuo University, the University of Yamanashi, Kyorin University, and Musashi University. The initiative has been presented as part of JGU’s broader effort to strengthen India–Japan academic cooperation, with Vice-Chancellor C. Raj Kumar stated that Japan’s leadership in innovation, governance, culture, and sustainability provides an ideal environment for immersive global learning, while also helping build one of the largest India Japan academic networks. Earlier this year, the university had sent a 40-student cohort to Temple University Japan under its first ST-SAP, marking a significant step in expanding international exposure. JGU currently maintains more than 25 partnerships with major Japanese institutions, including the University of Tokyo, United Nations University, Doshisha University, Ritsumeikan University, Osaka Gakuin University, and Hiroshima University. According to the university, the new programmes are expected to enhance student mobility, faculty collaboration, and cross-border research while allowing participants to explore Japan’s blend of tradition and modernity through themes such as governance, technology, heritage, society, and sustainability. Although detailed criteria for the 2026 programmes have not yet been released, eligibility is typically extended to JGU undergraduate and postgraduate students who are in good academic standing, have no disciplinary issues, possess valid travel documents, and are able to meet travel and programme-related costs. JGU has said that complete application guidelines will be shared with students internally.
