Jharkhand to Recruit 3,451 Special Teachers

The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has announced the recruitment of 3,451 Special Teachers for the 2026 cycle. The notification has been released on the official website, and the online application process is scheduled to be carried out from December 14, 2025, to January 13, 2026 , through jssc.jharkhand.gov.in. Applications are being invited from candidates who possess the required qualifications, including Graduate, B.Ed, 12th Pass, and D.El.Ed , depending on the category of the post.

According to the information provided by the Commission, the majority of the vacancies have been allotted to the post of Intermediate Trained Assistant Teacher for Classes 1 to 5, with 2,399 positions offered. For Classes 6 to 8, the post of Graduate Trained Assistant Teacher has been divided into subject categories, with 352 vacancies in Social Science , 344 in Language , and 356 in Mathematics and Science , bringing the total number to 3,451 posts .

The pay scale has been outlined as per the state government’s pay matrix. Intermediate Trained Assistant Teachers will be placed in Level 4 , with a monthly salary ranging from ₹25,500 to ₹81,100 , while Graduate Trained Assistant Teachers will be appointed under Level 5 , with salaries between ₹29,200 and ₹92,300 .

Eligibility conditions have been clearly defined. Candidates applying for Intermediate Trained Assistant Teacher positions must have passed Class 12, completed a two-year D.Ed. in Special Education, and qualified in the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET). For Graduate Trained Assistant Teacher posts, a bachelor’s degree, a B.Ed. in Special Education, and JTET qualification have been made compulsory. The minimum age for applicants has been fixed at 21 years , while the upper limit has been set at 40 years as of August 1, 2025. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided as per government rules. Applicants are also required to be Indian citizens.

The selection process will be conducted through a written examination or online test. Depending on the nature of the post, a skill test or physical test may also be conducted. Candidates who qualify these stages will undergo document verification followed by a medical examination before their final appointment.

The application fee has been prescribed as ₹100 for General, OBC, and EWS categories , ₹50 for SC and ST categories , and no fee for PH (Divyang) candidates . The fee will be accepted only through online payment gateways.

Applicants will be required to complete the online registration process, fill in accurate personal and educational information, upload documents, pay the required fee, and submit the form through the official portal. A copy of the submitted application is advised to be kept by the candidates for future use.

The recruitment notification has also confirmed that the correction window will remain open on January 14 and 15, 2026 for candidates who wish to make changes to their submitted applications. The examination schedule and admit card release date will be announced separately by the Commission. The recruitment drive has been viewed as a significant opportunity for teaching aspirants in Jharkhand, especially those seeking positions in primary and upper-primary schools.
