Jannik Sinner Reigns Again! World No. 1 Defeats Zverev to Retain Wimbledon Crown

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner continued his remarkable dominance on grass by defeating Alexander Zverev 6-7 (7), 7-6 (2), 6-3, 6-4 to successfully defend his title at the Wimbledon Championships on Sunday. The victory gave the Italian his fifth Grand Slam title and second consecutive crown at the All England Club.

Sinner's latest triumph came just weeks after a disappointing campaign at the French Open , where his 30-match winning streak ended in a dramatic second-round defeat to Juan Manuel Cerundolo amid difficult weather conditions in Paris. The final was evenly contested for nearly three hours. Zverev, fresh from winning his maiden Grand Slam title at the French Open, claimed the opening set in a tense tiebreak and ended a run of 14 consecutive sets lost to Sinner. The German consistently fired serves at speeds of up to 139 mph (224 kph) and looked capable of lifting his first Wimbledon trophy.

A crucial turning point arrived at 3-3 in the third set when Zverev slipped while chasing a drop shot and appeared to hyperextend his right knee.
