The Jan Samarth portal has emerged as a key driver of digital credit delivery , facilitating approvals worth over ₹84,365 crore to more than 35 lakh beneficiaries, the Ministry of Finance said on Monday.

Launched on June 6, 2022, the portal functions as a single-window platform for multiple credit-linked government schemes, aimed at improving access to finance and promoting inclusive growth. Since its inception, it has processed over 41.14 lakh applications involving ₹1,06,306 crore, reflecting its growing adoption across sectors.

The platform currently integrates 15 Central schemes spanning agriculture, MSMEs, housing, renewable energy, and livelihoods. These include initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, PM SVANidhi, and Kisan Credit Card, among others.

A total of 254 lenders including public and private sector banks, regional rural banks, cooperative institutions, NBFCs and small finance banks have been onboarded onto the portal as of March 20, 2026, enabling a wide choice of financing partners.

Designed as a digital marketplace for loans , Jan Samarth allows users to check eligibility, receive scheme recommendations, submit applications online, and obtain in-principle approvals from lenders. Beneficiaries can also track their applications in real time, reducing the need for multiple visits to bank branches.

The portal is supported by real-time data verification through systems linked to agencies such as the Central Board of Direct Taxes, GST, UIDAI, and credit bureaus, ensuring faster processing and improved transparency in lending decisions.

Available in eight languages, it also offers an assisted mode through banking correspondents, making it accessible to users with limited digital familiarity.

The government said more Central and State schemes are being integrated into the platform, further strengthening its role in enhancing financial inclusion and improving the ease of accessing institutional credit across the country.
