Jaishankar wraps up UAE visit, holds final round of talks in Abu Dhabi

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar concluded a series of high-level engagements in Abu Dhabi during the final leg of his April 9-12 visit to Mauritius and the United Arab Emirates, focusing on the evolving West Asia situation , bilateral cooperation, and the welfare of the Indian diaspora.

He first met UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan , where both leaders exchanged views on the regional security environment. Jaishankar said in a social media post, “A real pleasure to meet DPM & FM @ABZayed of UAE in Abu Dhabi this evening. Our conversation focused on the evolving regional situation and its implications.”

He further added that he conveyed India’s appreciation for the UAE leadership’s continued support for the Indian community, stating that India deeply values the well-being of Indians in the Gulf nation . The discussions also reaffirmed the strength of the India–UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and its continued forward momentum.

In a separate high-level engagement, Jaishankar also called on UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan , where discussions expanded to regional stability and humanitarian concerns. He expressed gratitude for the UAE’s support during recent tensions affecting West Asia and highlighted the importance of safeguarding the large Indian diaspora living in the region.

Across the meetings, both sides reiterated confidence in the continued growth of the India–UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership , covering political, economic, energy, and people-to-people cooperation.

Jaishankar noted that his Abu Dhabi engagements came after participating in the 9th Indian Ocean Conference in Mauritius , marking the conclusion of his multi-country diplomatic tour.
