Jaishankar holds talks with European, UK and Egyptian counterparts at UAE summit

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Europe, the United Kingdom and Egypt on the sidelines of a high-level international summit in the United Arab Emirates, underscoring India’s active diplomatic engagement on key global and regional issues.

The interactions took place during the three-day Sir Bani Yas Forum 2025 , held in Abu Dhabi from Friday to Sunday , which brought together global leaders, foreign ministers and policymakers to discuss pressing geopolitical and security challenges.

Jaishankar met Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel , Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski , and Latvia’s Foreign Minister Baiba Braze . In a social media post, the minister said the interactions reflected the importance India places on strengthening ties with European partners amid evolving geopolitical and security challenges .

The External Affairs Minister also met UK Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy on the sidelines of the summit. The meeting highlighted continued engagement between India and the UK on bilateral cooperation and wider international developments.

In another engagement, Jaishankar met Egypt’s Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty , with discussions focusing on matters of mutual interest and ongoing cooperation between the two countries.

Jaishankar was in Abu Dhabi to attend the three-day Sir Bani Yas Forum 2025 , which concluded on Sunday. The forum is an annual platform for high-level dialogue on pressing regional and global issues.

The Sir Bani Yas Forum brought together global leaders, foreign ministers, senior policymakers, diplomats and strategic experts from Europe, West Asia, Africa and Asia . Discussions centred on regional stability, global security challenges, diplomatic cooperation and approaches to managing emerging international crises .
