External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held separate meetings with his Russian, Polish and South Korean counterparts in Atlanta on Saturday, discussing the Ukraine conflict, the situation in the Gulf, bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation. The meetings took place on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in the United States.

Jaishankar met Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, with discussions covering the Ukraine conflict, developments in the Gulf and broader multilateral issues. Sharing details of the meeting on social media, Jaishankar said the two leaders had discussed the Ukraine conflict, the Gulf situation and multilateral matters.

He also held talks with the Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski. Their discussions focused on the Ukraine conflict, India-European Union relations and cooperation within the G20. Jaishankar said the meeting covered key international developments and India's engagement with Poland on bilateral and multilateral issues.

Poland is participating in this year's G20 meetings as a full participant after receiving an invitation from the United States. Warsaw has also expressed interest in obtaining permanent membership of the grouping, which brings together major developed and emerging economies.

In another meeting, Jaishankar held discussions with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun, reviewing progress in bilateral cooperation and exchanging views on the G20 and other multilateral issues. Jaishankar described the interaction as an opportunity to take stock of the two countries' partnership and discuss areas of international cooperation.

The meetings came amid continuing geopolitical challenges, including the war in Ukraine and tensions in West Asia, highlighting India's diplomatic engagement with key international partners.

Following two days of discussions on global affairs, Jaishankar and other G20 foreign ministers also attended a college football game between the Florida Gators and the Georgia Bulldogs at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio accompanied the visiting ministers to the stadium. He said he was happy to introduce his counterparts to American college football and welcome them to the Gator Nation. Rubio's son, Anthony, plays as a running back for the Florida Gators.
