Jailer 2 Advance Bookings Cross ₹60 Crore as Rajinikanth’s Film Releases Today

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is generating significant excitement among fans as the much-awaited sequel prepares for its theatrical release today, October 15, according to the film’s release schedule. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, the film follows the success of the 2023 blockbuster Jailer and is expected to register a strong opening at the box office.

According to the advance-booking figures cited in trade reports, worldwide pre-sales have crossed ₹60 crore, reflecting strong interest in India and overseas markets. However, the exact figures vary across tracking sources and reporting times, and the final collections will depend on ticket sales and audience turnout.

Karnataka has emerged as an important market, with reported advance sales crossing one lakh tickets and generating approximately ₹6.1 crore in gross collections. Tamil Nadu remains a key territory for the Rajinikanth-starrer, while Kerala has also attracted considerable interest. In North America, premiere bookings are reportedly approaching $1 million, underlining the film’s appeal among international audiences.

Trade estimates suggest that Jailer 2 could collect around ₹125 crore worldwide on its opening day. This figure remains a projection rather than a confirmed collection, with the film’s performance expected to become clearer after its theatrical debut and the first audience reviews.

Despite the strong overall interest, the film faces challenges in certain markets. Reports indicate comparatively slower advance-booking momentum in the Telugu-speaking states. Its performance in North India could also be influenced by multiplex availability and concerns over the reported four-week gap between its theatrical and digital releases.

The film features Vidya Balan, S. J. Suryah and Mithun Chakraborty, alongside other prominent actors. It is scheduled to release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, giving it a broad pan-Indian reach.

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander has celebrated Rajinikanth’s 51-year journey in cinema, acknowledging the joy and lasting memories the superstar has given generations of fans. IMAX screenings are also expected to enhance the film’s large-scale action experience.

With substantial advance sales and high expectations, Jailer 2 is heading into its opening day under intense box-office scrutiny. Its eventual success will depend on audience response, reviews and sustained ticket sales over the coming days.
