“Jai Bhavani” chants echo across Indrakeeladri hills

The sacred hill of Indrakeeladri is resonating with chants of “Jai Bhavani” as large numbers of Bhavani devotees join the regular stream of pilgrims during the Navaratri festivities. Their arrival has significantly increased the rush at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, but efficient crowd management has ensured a smooth darshan for all.

From railway stations and bus stands onwards, the administration has put in place a systematic traffic plan to avoid congestion. The coordinated efforts of NTR District Collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha, Municipal Commissioner Dhyanachandra, Police Commissioner S.V. Rajashekhara Babu, and Devasthanam Executive Officer Srinivas Naik have kept the flow of devotees under control, while also addressing their basic needs.

A notable factor this year has been the increase in the number of women devotees, thanks to the state government’s Sthree Shakti scheme, which allows women free travel on public buses. Many women pilgrims expressed that this facility encouraged them to visit the Goddess during the festival.

Officials have been directed to prioritize a “satisfying darshan for every devotee.” Departments are working in close coordination, with officers from various regions assigned specific duties to ensure that crowd management, safety, and amenities are handled without lapses.

Pilgrims praised the administration for providing safe drinking water, biscuit packets, hot milk for children, and emergency medical services. Special queue lines have been arranged exclusively for Bhavani devotees who observe the mala dharana ritual, so that their visit and ritual completion remain unhindered.

The temple town has been witnessing a festive spiritual atmosphere, with devotees reporting a fulfilling darshan and expressing appreciation for the arrangements. Authorities stressed that their focus remains on enabling every visitor to experience the divine presence of Goddess Kanaka Durga without inconvenience, turning the Navaratri celebrations into a blend of devotion, discipline, and collective satisfaction.
