Israel Kills at Least 12 Palestinians in Gaza Amid ‘Ceasefire’
At least 12 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip , despite an ongoing ‘ceasefire’ , according to medical and local sources, in yet another episode highlighting repeated violations of the fragile truce.
Reports said the strikes hit multiple locations, including Gaza City, Khan Younis, and Beit Lahiya , with one of the deadliest incidents involving an attack on a police vehicle in Khan Younis that killed at least eight people, including officers and civilians nearby. A separate strike in Gaza City also caused additional fatalities, as tanks and drone fire were reported in other areas.
The Israeli military said it had targeted militants and responded to security threats but did not address all reported incidents. Palestinian officials, however, described the strikes as part of a continuing pattern of ceasefire violations , with civilians increasingly among the casualties.
Health authorities in Gaza said the attacks added to a rising toll since the truce was declared, with hundreds of deaths reported in subsequent months despite international efforts to stabilize the situation.
Meanwhile, violence also escalated in the occupied West Bank , where three Palestinian teenagers were killed this week in separate incidents involving Israeli forces and settlers.
In the village of Tell, mourners buried Youssef Shtayyeh , a 15-year-old who was shot dead during an Israeli raid in nearby Nablus . Witnesses said his body was carried through the streets as residents gathered in grief, waving Palestinian flags and reciting prayers.
The Israeli army said its forces fired after a suspect allegedly threw stones, without giving further operational details. The raid took place in an area governed by the Palestinian Authority .
Rights groups and officials, including Ramallah Mayor Leila Ghannam , warned of growing impunity and rising settler violence across the West Bank. The UN humanitarian office has reported at least 40 Palestinian deaths this year amid worsening instability.
