Intelligence Bureau opens applications for 258 ACIO-II Technical posts

The Intelligence Bureau (IB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has announced recruitment for 258 posts of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer Grade-II (Technical). The online application process began on October 25, 2025, and will continue until November 16, 2025, through the official website www.mha.gov.in .

This recruitment drive aims to fill vacancies under two major streams — Computer Science & Information Technology (90 posts) and Electronics & Communication (168 posts). Candidates possessing a B.E./B.Tech degree in relevant fields such as Electronics, Communication, Information Technology, or Computer Science, or a Master’s degree in Science (with Electronics, Computer Science, or Physics with Electronics) or MCA from a recognized university are eligible to apply. Applicants must also have a valid GATE score from 2023, 2024, or 2025.

The age limit for candidates is between 18 and 27 years, with relaxations applicable as per government rules. Selected candidates will be placed in Level 7 of the Pay Matrix (Rs. 44,900–1,42,400), along with admissible allowances, including a Special Security Allowance of 20% of the basic pay and compensation for duties performed on holidays.

The selection process will be based on a candidate’s GATE score, followed by a Skill Test and Interview. Up to ten times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the next stage. The skill test will evaluate the applicant’s practical and technical knowledge relevant to the job profile, while the interview will assess both subject expertise and communication skills. The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined performance in all three stages — GATE (750 marks), Skill Test (250 marks), and Interview (175 marks).

An application fee of Rs. 200 is applicable for male candidates belonging to the UR, EWS, and OBC categories, which includes recruitment processing and examination charges. All other candidates need to pay Rs. 100 as processing fees. Applications submitted through any mode other than the online portal will not be accepted.
