IT services major Infosys on Wednesday reported a 2.2% year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 6,654 crore for the October–December quarter (Q3 FY26) , compared to Rs 6,806 crore in the same quarter last year. Despite the profit drop, the company delivered strong revenue growth, with revenue from operations rising 8.89% to Rs 45,479 crore , supported by strong execution and deal ramp-ups. On a sequential basis, profit fell 9.6% quarter-on-quarter , while revenue increased 2.2% . Reports also indicated that profit was impacted due to a one-time effect linked to the implementation of India’s new labour codes from November 2025.

A major positive takeaway from the quarter was the company’s improved outlook. Infosys raised its FY26 revenue growth guidance to 3%–3.5% (constant currency) from the earlier 2%–3%, while maintaining its operating margin guidance of 20%–22% . Infosys CEO and MD Salil Parekh said the company delivered a strong Q3 performance, highlighting that its enterprise AI offerings through Infosys Topaz are gaining traction and helping the firm win market share. He added that clients increasingly view Infosys as a reliable partner in their AI transformation journeys, supported by its focus on innovation, delivery strength and workforce reskilling.

The quarter was also marked by a sharp jump in large deal wins. Infosys posted large deal bookings of $4.8 billion , up from $3.1 billion in the previous quarter, signalling improved demand for long-term digital and AI-led transformation programs. In terms of business segments, the company saw growth led by key verticals, with financial services expanding 3.9% and the communications segment growing 9.9% . Infosys also added around 5,000 employees in the December quarter, taking its overall headcount to about 3.37 lakh , indicating confidence in sustained demand and future growth.
