Industrial growth stalled under YSRCP, says MLA Sindhura Reddy
Putaparthi MLA Sindhura Reddy has accused the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government of failing to attract industries to Andhra Pradesh, leading to widespread unemployment and economic stagnation.
Speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the Talamarla Primary Cooperative Society members in her constituency, Reddy said the state’s economic condition had deteriorated severely due to the policies of the former government. “During the YSRCP regime, industrial activity came to a standstill. Job opportunities for youth and workers vanished, and not a single major industry was set up in the state,” she remarked.
She asserted that the coalition government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, with the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, had set Andhra Pradesh back on the path of growth. “Our government is focused on reviving investor confidence and making the state a hub for industries in the coming years,” she added.
Highlighting the early achievements of the new government, Sindhura Reddy pointed out that over 15,000 teacher posts were filled through a Mega DSC recruitment drive, addressing long-pending vacancies in the education sector.
She also announced that Google is setting up a data center in Visakhapatnam with an investment of ₹87,500 crore, which is expected to create thousands of direct and indirect jobs. “This marks the beginning of a new industrial era for Andhra Pradesh,” she said, expressing confidence that the state would soon emerge as one of the top investment destinations in the country.
The MLA urged cooperative society members to work with integrity and help improve the financial wellbeing of farmers. “When cooperative institutions function sincerely, rural economies thrive,” she observed.
Sindhura Reddy also highlighted several welfare programs initiated by the coalition government, stating that social benefits are being distributed fairly across all communities. “The government is implementing numerous schemes to ensure inclusive growth. Every citizen should make use of these opportunities,” she said.
Former minister Dr. Palle Raghunath Reddy, who also spoke at the event, praised Chief Minister Naidu’s commitment to farmers’ welfare. He stated that the government had already fulfilled 95 percent of the ‘Super Six’ promises made before the elections.
He noted that new welfare schemes are being launched almost every month, creating what he described as a “festive atmosphere” across the state. The government has doubled social pensions, disbursing about ₹4,400 crore to over 65 lakh families, he added.
Raghunath Reddy further mentioned the ‘Thalliki Vandhanam’ initiative, under which the government deposits ₹13,000 annually into the bank accounts of mothers of school-going children. The program, aimed at supporting education, involves a total expenditure of nearly ₹8,700 crore.
Both leaders emphasized that under the current coalition’s leadership, Andhra Pradesh is regaining its momentum as a center for development and welfare. “The combined efforts of Prime Minister Modi, Chief Minister Naidu, and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan are transforming the state’s future,” Sindhura Reddy said, expressing optimism about Andhra Pradesh’s economic revival.
