Indiramma Housing Scheme Brings New Homes to Families in Kamareddy District

The Telangana government’s flagship Indiramma Housing Scheme continued to gain momentum in Kamareddy district , where beneficiaries stepped into their newly constructed homes during a housewarming ceremony held in Chinnamallareddy village of Kamareddy mandal on Saturday.

The programme was attended by State Government Advisor Mohammed Shabbir Ali and District Collector Ashish Sangwan , who formally inaugurated the houses built under the scheme and interacted with the beneficiaries. Local public representatives, officials and villagers also participated in the event, turning the occasion into a celebration for the community.

As part of the ceremony, housewarming rituals were performed for beneficiaries Bikkanuru Lakshmi and Chityala Rajamani , who received homes constructed under the government initiative. For the families, the moment marked the fulfilment of a long-cherished dream of owning a permanent and secure house.

Following the directions of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy , the government distributed essential household items and clothing to the families entering their new homes to help them begin their lives with basic necessities.

Adding to the celebrations, District In-charge Minister Seethakka interacted with the beneficiaries over the phone and conveyed her greetings, sharing their joy on the occasion. The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for providing them with houses that offer stability and dignity.

Speaking at the programme, Mohammed Shabbir Ali recalled that during Revanth Reddy’s earlier padayatra , the future Chief Minister had witnessed the hardships faced by poor families living in damaged houses and temporary shelters in rural areas. Moved by their struggles, he had promised that the government would ensure proper housing for the poor once in power.

Shabbir Ali said the completion of the houses and the ongoing housewarming ceremonies reflect the government’s determination to fulfil that promise. He also advised beneficiaries whose houses are still under construction under the Indiramma scheme to complete the remaining work at the earliest so they too can move into their homes soon.

Launched in 2024 , the Indiramma Illu housing programme aims to provide financial assistance to poor families to construct permanent houses across Telangana. The initiative is part of the state government’s broader efforts to improve living standards and ensure housing security for economically weaker sections.
