The Praja Palana review meeting in Sangareddy brought several public concerns into focus, with demands for fair housing allocations, faster processing of benefits and time-bound action on land-related grievances across the erstwhile Medak district. Issues concerning the Indiramma Indlu housing scheme, double-bedroom house ownership certificates and pending bills were among the key matters raised during the meeting.

During the review, Dubbak MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy met Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and urged the government to ensure that eligible poor families were not excluded from the Indiramma housing scheme because of errors in the Praja Palana survey. He sought consideration for all deserving applicants listed under the L-1, L-2 and L-3 categories.

Prabhakar Reddy said minor errors in the survey had resulted in several eligible beneficiaries being placed in the L-2 and L-3 lists. He called for a review of these cases to ensure that deserving families received housing assistance. He also suggested setting fixed deadlines for officials to speed up house approvals and construction.

The MLA further requested that people who had received bills under earlier Indiramma housing programmes, but currently met the prescribed eligibility conditions, be considered for new house construction in accordance with the applicable rules.

Another key demand concerned residents of double-bedroom houses. Prabhakar Reddy urged the government to issue ownership certificates to eligible occupants and clear pending bills without further delay.

He also called for village-level revenue meetings to resolve land disputes across the Dubbak constituency. He specifically highlighted problems in Ibrahimpoor and Ullidimmayipalli villages in Chegunta mandal, along with Raghothampalli and Akram villages in Dubbak mandal. He urged the authorities to resolve these disputes and provide relief to affected residents.

Responding to the representations, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy assured the MLA that the government would examine the L-2 and L-3 lists and take necessary steps to address land-related grievances. He also directed officials to issue ownership certificates to eligible double-bedroom house residents without political discrimination and in accordance with existing rules.

Meanwhile, a disagreement reportedly arose after police said media personnel would not be allowed to cover the meeting. Prabhakar Reddy questioned the restriction, asking why journalists were being prevented from attending and whether the public should not be informed of the proceedings. The exchange reportedly led to a heated argument between the MLA and police personnel.

Ministers Vivek Venkataswamy and Damodar Rajanarasimha, along with several MLAs and senior officials, also attended the review meeting.
