
Indira Mahila Shakti Strengthens Women’s Economic Empowerment: Minister Mohammad Azharuddin
The Telangana government remains firmly committed to the welfare and economic empowerment of women , said State Minority Welfare Minister Mohammad Azharuddin , highlighting a series of ongoing initiatives aimed at improving their social and financial status.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a ‘Indira Mahila Shakti’ saree distribution programme held on Saturday at Banjara Bhavan in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad , which witnessed a large turnout of women beneficiaries.
Addressing the gathering, Azharuddin said that under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy , the state government is implementing several welfare and empowerment schemes focused on enhancing the economic, educational, and social conditions of women . He stressed that women’s empowerment forms a crucial pillar in the government’s broader vision of achieving inclusive and sustainable growth .
During the programme, sarees were distributed to women under the Indira Mahila Shakti scheme , aimed at supporting and recognising eligible beneficiaries across the state. The Minister also interacted directly with several women, listening to their experiences and feedback on government welfare initiatives.
Azharuddin assured the participants that the government is taking all necessary steps to ensure that every eligible woman in the state receives the benefits of welfare schemes effectively and without delay. He noted that such initiatives not only provide material support but also help enhance dignity, confidence, and financial security among women.
Participants and women representatives expressed satisfaction over the government’s efforts, stating that such programmes are playing a meaningful role in improving livelihoods and expanding opportunities for women.
The event concluded with the formal distribution of sarees to all eligible beneficiaries. Several dignitaries attended the programme, including Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Yadav , Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender , MLC Balmoor Venkat , GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan , along with chairpersons of various government bodies, senior officials, and women representatives.
