IndiGo has issued a detailed travel advisory assuring passengers of clear communication and operational transparency following the closure of several Middle Eastern airspaces due to escalating geopolitical tensions. The airline confirmed that passengers whose flights are impacted will be informed directly through the contact details provided during booking or web check-in. Travellers have also been advised to explore alternative travel arrangements or request refunds through the airline’s official website.

In its advisory, IndiGo stated that it continues to take measured and responsible decisions across select international sectors in response to evolving developments in the region. The airline emphasised that safety remains its top priority and reassured customers that its approach is guided by the well-being of passengers and crew . It further clarified that any booking or flight operating over restricted airspace will be updated promptly, ensuring passengers receive timely information.

Passengers affected by route changes or cancellations can check updates directly and access support through the designated refund or rebooking portal available on the airline’s website. The company encouraged travellers to remain updated on their flight status and maintain flexible travel plans amid ongoing uncertainties in the region.

Meanwhile, Akasa Air announced the suspension of flights to and from key Gulf destinations including Abu Dhabi, Doha, Jeddah, Kuwait, and Riyadh until March 2, citing safety concerns due to the shifting security situation. The airline clarified that passengers with bookings impacted until March 7, 2026, are eligible for a full refund or rescheduling at no additional cost .

Akasa Air stated that its teams are actively reaching out to affected travellers using the contact information provided at the time of booking. Passengers have been advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport and to contact the airline’s 24x7 customer support centre for immediate assistance. The carrier reiterated that the safety of passengers and crew remains its highest priority and that operational decisions are being taken responsibly in line with global developments.

The disruptions come amid escalating tensions involving Israel, the United States, and Iran , which have led several Gulf nations to temporarily close their airspace. As a result, multiple flights operating to and from major hubs such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia have been cancelled or rerouted.

Airlines operating in the region continue to monitor the situation closely and adjust schedules accordingly. Passengers are encouraged to stay informed through official airline communication channels and plan travel with flexibility until the situation stabilises.
