India’s shooting star Aishwary Tomar wins 3P silver on World Cup final debut in ISSF World Cup

India concluded the ISSF World Cup Final 2025 in Doha with a total of five medals, two gold, two silver, and one bronze, securing second place overall behind China and highlighting the country’s growing dominance in shooting.

The standout performer for India was Suruchi Singh Phogat, who clinched gold in the women’s 10m air pistol, setting a junior world record with a score of 245.1. Her compatriot Sainyam Vij followed with silver, giving India a remarkable 1–2 finish in the event.

In men’s events, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar made a strong World Cup Final debut, winning silver in the 50m rifle 3 positions (3P). He finished just 0.9 points behind Czech shooter Jiri Privratsky, while Olympic champion Liu Yukun took bronze. Veteran shooter Samrat Rana also contributed to India’s medal tally with bronze in the men’s 10m air pistol.

Other Indian athletes, including Sift Kaur Samra (women’s 3P) and Manu Bhaker (women’s 25m pistol), could not progress past the qualification rounds, finishing 10th and 9th respectively.

China led the overall medal standings with seven, but India’s five-medal haul, spearheaded by Suruchi’s historic gold, reinforced the nation’s stature in international shooting. With strong performances across both pistol and rifle disciplines, India concluded the event on a high note, promising an exciting season ahead.
