Hockey India’s 8th Annual Awards on Friday evening turned the spotlight on the nation’s finest players, rising stars, and stalwarts who defined Indian hockey in 2025 . Amid a glittering ceremony in New Delhi, the night celebrated achievement, passion, and the relentless drive that continues to push India toward global hockey prominence .
Hardik Singh , lauded for his commanding presence in midfield, was crowned Men’s Player of the Year , while Navneet Kaur , the star performer at the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Qualifiers in Hyderabad , was named Women’s Player of the Year . Their performances not only captivated fans but also underscored India’s growing strength on the international stage.
The ceremony also recognized emerging talents like Sakshi Rana and Prince Deep Singh , alongside teams and organizations that have left their mark. The senior men’s team , celebrated for their gold at the Hero Asia Cup , and state-level contributors such as Hockey Jharkhand , received accolades. The evening further honored umpire Raghu Prasad RV for exemplary service and bestowed a lifetime achievement award on Zafar Iqbal , cementing their legacies in Indian hockey.
