Indian shooters Palak and Mukesh Nelavalli delivered a spectacular performance to win gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the ISSF World Cup for rifle and pistol, setting a new world record of 487.7 , which also stands as a junior world record .

The duo demonstrated consistency throughout the competition. In the qualification round , they scored 581-17x , finishing second behind China’s Qianxun Yao and Kai Hu , who topped the stage with 586-23x . In the medal match, Palak fired 243.0 while Mukesh added 244.7 , helping India clinch the top prize. China took the silver with 484.8 , and Hungary’s Veronika Major and Akos Karoly Nagy claimed bronze with a combined total of 414.9 .

Palak, 18 , first made her mark by winning 10m air pistol individual gold and team silver at the 2023 Asian Games. Her record-setting 242.1 points there also secured her a quota for the 2024 Paris Olympics . Mukesh, another rising star, is a junior world champion , and this victory adds to his growing reputation in international shooting.
