Indian national brutally murdered in Dallas; Trump promises stern action

US President Donald Trump has pledged that the accused in the gruesome killing of Indian national Chandra Nagamallaiah in Dallas, Texas, will face the harshest possible punishment under American law.

In a Truth Social post, Trump condemned the killing, carried out by 37-year-old Cuban national Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, who allegedly beheaded Nagamallaiah in front of his wife and son on September 10. Trump blamed former President Joe Biden’s administration for allowing Cobos-Martinez, who had a history of serious crimes including child sex abuse and false imprisonment, to remain in the US after Cuba refused his repatriation. “Rest assured, the time for being soft on these Illegal Immigrant Criminals is OVER under my watch,” Trump wrote, promising a charge of first-degree murder.

Local police said the attack occurred outside the Downtown Suites motel in East Dallas after an argument. Cobos-Martinez has been charged with capital murder and is being held in Dallas County Jail, with a federal detainer placed on him by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The Consulate General of India in Houston has expressed condolences and assured support for Nagamallaiah’s family, stating it is closely monitoring the case.The murder has reignited debates over US immigration policy and enforcement, with Trump promising stricter measures to prevent similar tragedies.
