India to Host Malaysia U-21 Hockey Team for Crucial 8-Match Series Ahead of Asia Cup

India's preparations for the Junior Asia Cup will gather momentum as the Indian junior men's hockey team hosts the Malaysia U-21 men's team for an eight-match exposure series at the SAI Netaji Subhas Southern Centre in Bengaluru from August 7 to 15.

The series has been designed to provide both teams with valuable international match exposure while also strengthening sporting ties between India and Malaysia. As part of the schedule, the Indian junior side will face Malaysia in five matches on August 7, 8, 10, 12 and 13, while the visiting team will also take on the SAI Team in three matches on August 3, 5 and 15.

The tournament comes at a crucial stage for the Indian squad, which recently returned from a productive training and competition tour in Belgium. The overseas stint helped the young players gain valuable experience against quality opposition and allowed the coaching staff to evaluate combinations ahead of the continental championship.

Indian junior men's coach Frederic Soyez said the upcoming fixtures would play an important role in continuing the team's development before the Asia Cup. He noted that the Belgium tour had shown encouraging progress and expressed hope that the Malaysia series would help the players further strengthen their performances and build on the improvements made during the recent training camp.

Beyond the results, the exposure series will give the coaching staff another opportunity to test tactics, experiment with player combinations and assess match readiness under competitive conditions.

With the Junior Asia Cup approaching, the Bengaluru series is expected to serve as an important platform for India's emerging hockey talent to fine-tune their game and gain the confidence needed for the continental challenge.
