India thrashes Pakistan in thrilling Dubai final

Under Dubai’s floodlights, India rose from early heartbreak to pull off a spectacular five-wicket win over arch-rivals Pakistan, claiming their ninth Asia Cup title. Tilak Varma’s fearless stroke play and Kuldeep Yadav’s spin wizardry left fans gasping in delight as India chased down 147 in a thrilling finale.

The pitch at Dubai offered a balanced contest. Early movement favored batters, but subtle turn and consistent bounce in the middle overs gave India’s spinners the perfect platform to wreak havoc.

After a shaky start, with India slumping to 20 for three inside five overs, Tilak Varma (69 not out off 53 balls) combined composure with audacity to guide the chase. Earlier, Pakistan’s innings had looked promising thanks to an 84-run opening partnership between Sahibzada Farhan (57 off 38 balls) and Fakhar Zaman (46 off 35 balls). But India’s spin troika choked the middle and death overs. Precise slower balls and tight lines left Pakistan scrambling, while attempts to hit out of trouble by Salman Ali Agha and Hussain Talat ended in failure.

Jasprit Bumrah (2/25 in 3.1 overs), despite a quiet tournament so far, delivered a symbolic send-off to Haris Rauf reminiscent of previous on-field controversies, wrapping up the contest emphatically.

Led by Suryakumar Yadav and guided by Gautam Gambhir, India displayed fearlessness under immense pressure.
