India On China Backing Pakistan: Responsible Nations Must Reflect On Global Standing
New Delhi has expressed concern over reports of China extending support to Pakistan during Operation Sindoor , saying such actions by countries projecting global responsibility raise serious questions about credibility and intent in international affairs.
At a weekly briefing, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Randhir Jaiswal said the reports only reaffirm India’s assessment of growing coordination between Beijing and Islamabad during the recent escalation.
He stated that Operation Sindoor was a precise and calibrated response to the Pahalgam terror attack , aimed at dismantling cross border terror infrastructure.
Jaiswal added that the action was directed at eliminating networks operating from across the border and was not arbitrary in nature.
He further said nations claiming global responsibility must assess whether support for such structures aligns with their international standing and stated principles.
The remarks follow reports that China acknowledged providing on site technical assistance to Pakistan during the four day military confrontation with India. The development has drawn attention to deeper defence cooperation between Beijing and Islamabad.
Chinese state broadcaster CCTV reportedly carried material involving personnel linked to the Aviation Industry Corporation of China , indicating technical involvement during the conflict period.
Pakistan’s air force relies heavily on Chinese supplied platforms, including J 10CE fighter jets , reflecting sustained military cooperation between the two countries.
Indian defence officials have earlier highlighted this alignment, pointing to Pakistan’s dependence on Chinese origin systems and their operational coordination.
Following the terror attack in Pahalgam , India launched Operation Sindoor , carrying out precision strikes on terror infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Officials said multiple militant facilities were destroyed.
The strikes triggered a brief escalation, with retaliatory attempts intercepted by Indian defence systems. The situation later de-escalated after communication between military channels on both sides.
The episode highlights continuing regional tensions and evolving strategic alignments in South Asia shaped by cross border security concerns.
