K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) , Working President of the BRS, stated that India is now one of the most attractive investment destinations globally , highlighting its growing role in the world economy.

Addressing students and experts at the Columbia Business School during the Columbia India Business Conference 2026 in New York, KTR said India is rapidly emerging as a global talent hub . He noted that the country’s vast human resources, large market, and supportive policies are collectively driving international investments.

KTR pointed out that India produces around 1.5 million engineers annually , making it one of the largest talent pools in the world. He emphasised that the country’s youthful demographic profile is a major strength for long-term economic growth. With an average age of about 27 years , nearly 50% of the population below 27 , and 65% below 35 , he said India’s demographic dividend is significant.

Highlighting advancements in technology and digital infrastructure , KTR said these have reduced barriers across sectors of the economy. He noted that ease of transactions and scalability have improved, enabling businesses to expand rapidly. India, he stressed, is no longer just a source of low-cost labour but a nation of capable and skilled youth . He added that policies are aligned with current digital demands and that the country offers massive market scale for global businesses.

Following the conference, KTR shared his views on social media platform X, stating that Telangana emerged from struggle and sacrifice, and under the leadership of K. Chandrashekar Rao , has become a model for the nation within a decade.

He described the discussions at Columbia Business School on business, innovation, and future policies as highly inspiring, adding that his presentation of Telangana’s growth trajectory and India’s potential as a global hub was well received.
