India Name Squad For Women’s T20 World Cup With Yastika Return And Nandini Maiden Call-Up
India have named wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia and uncapped pacer Nandini Sharma in their 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 , set to begin on June 12 in England and Wales. The same squad will also feature in the three-match T20I series against England starting May 28, which will serve as crucial preparation ahead of the global event.
While Pratika Rawal has been left out of the T20 setup, all-rounder Amanjot Kaur misses selection due to injury . However, Pratika has been included in the squad for the one-off Test against England to be played at Lord’s Cricket Ground from July 10 to 13.
India will be led by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur , with Smriti Mandhana continuing as vice-captain across formats. The core of the squad remains largely unchanged, with experienced names like Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh retaining their places.
The inclusion of Nandini highlights the selectors’ focus on emerging talent. The medium pacer impressed in the Women’s Premier League , picking up 17 wickets in 10 matches for Delhi Capitals. She was also part of India’s campaign in the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament in Bangkok earlier this year. Yastika’s return strengthens the wicketkeeping options alongside Richa Ghosh.
The squad composition reflects a balance of experience and youth as India aim to mount a strong challenge in the marquee tournament.
