India Jump to Fourth After Day 10, Australia Continue to Lead CWG Medal Standings

India produced one of its most memorable performances of the Commonwealth Games 2026, climbing to fourth place in the medal standings after a spectacular Day 10 in Glasgow, highlighted by an outstanding seven-gold haul in boxing.

The golden run propelled India to 39 medals overall, comprising 13 gold, 17 silver and nine bronze, allowing the contingent to overtake hosts Scotland in the standings with just one day of competition remaining.

India's remarkable surge came on the back of a dominant display by its boxers, who delivered seven gold medals to significantly boost the country's tally and strengthen hopes of an even better finish on the final day of the Games.

Australia continued to dominate the medal table, remaining firmly at the top with 150 medals, including 62 gold, 38 silver and 50 bronze. England held on to second place with 99 medals (25 gold, 40 silver, 34 bronze), while Canada stayed third with 58 medals (18 gold, 19 silver, 21 bronze).

Hosts Scotland slipped to fifth despite collecting 37 medals, including 12 gold, as India's superior silver medal count helped it move ahead. Nigeria occupied sixth place with 21 medals (10 gold), followed by New Zealand, Wales, Jamaica and Malaysia to complete the top 10.

India's rise reflects a consistent campaign across multiple disciplines, but it was the boxing contingent that stole the spotlight on Saturday with a medal-winning spree that reshaped the standings.

With the Commonwealth Games entering their final day, the Indian contingent will aim to build on its momentum and add more medals as it looks to finish the campaign on a high. Australia, meanwhile, remain comfortably ahead of the field and are on course to finish as the overall champions once again.
