India hosts landmark mixed disability T20I series, ECB applauds DCCI’s efforts
India recently played host to a landmark five match Mixed Disability T20 International Series featuring the England Men’s Mixed Disability team, with matches held in Greater Noida and Jaipur. The series, organised by the Differently Abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI), concluded successfully, drawing appreciation from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
England won the series 4 to 1, but the tournament was about much more than the final score. It was not a charity event , but a fully competitive international contest designed to promote inclusive cricket at the highest level. The Mixed Disability format integrates players with different categories of disabilities, including physical impairment, hearing impairment, and learning disabilities, into one unified team competing under professional standards.
The matches were staged across venues in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and Jaipur, Rajasthan, with proper facilities and match arrangements. The Indian squad featured players from across the country representing various disability categories, while England fielded its official national Mixed Disability team.
In a formal communication to DCCI General Secretary Ravi Kant Chauhan, ECB Head of Disability Cricket Ian Martin thanked the Indian organisers, sponsors, and support staff for their professionalism and hospitality. He described the tour as a “wonderful experience” and said the England players returned home with memorable experiences of India .
Responding to the message, Chauhan emphasised that the series reflected India’s growing commitment to inclusive cricket and global collaboration . He highlighted that India has been investing in structured domestic tournaments, talent identification, and international exposure for differently abled cricketers.
By successfully hosting the bilateral contest, India reinforced its position as a key contributor to the global disability cricket movement , showing that the sport is steadily evolving into a recognised and competitive international platform for athletes of all abilities.
