REPLUS Engitech Private Limited has unveiled its next-generation liquid-cooled Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), the RE5K, at the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2025 in New Delhi. The launch marks a major milestone in India’s clean energy and self-reliance journey, showcasing advanced energy storage technology designed and manufactured entirely within the country.

The RE5K is India’s first 5.01 MWh liquid-cooled BESS container, built to deliver superior safety, reliability, and operational endurance for both utility grid-scale and industrial energy storage applications. Developed at REPLUS’s 1 GWh manufacturing facility in Pune, the system integrates innovation with robust engineering, setting a new benchmark in high-performance and sustainable energy storage solutions.

The system incorporates intelligent liquid cooling, dual-stage fire protection, and a rugged, corrosion-resistant container design, ensuring stable performance even in extreme environmental conditions. With its modular architecture and advanced energy management capabilities, the RE5K offers enhanced efficiency, faster deployment, and reduced maintenance requirements.

Key specifications of the RE5K include:

• 5.01 MWh energy capacity per container

• Uniform temperature management up to 55°C through intelligent liquid cooling

• Dual-stage fire suppression system using condensed aerosol and water mist

• 314 Ah long-life cells with a 20-year service life and 10,000 cycle design

• Compliance with international safety and performance standards

The RE5K is suited for applications such as grid stabilisation, peak load management, renewable energy integration, and industrial backup power. It also supports microgrid and off-grid operations, enabling energy efficiency and resilience across multiple sectors.

Speaking at the launch, Hiren Pravin Shah, Managing Director and CEO of REPLUS Engitech, said, “As India transitions to a cleaner and more resilient energy future, the launch of RE5K demonstrates what’s possible when innovation, engineering excellence, and real-world application come together. By developing and manufacturing advanced battery systems in India, REPLUS Engitech is proud to contribute to the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ mission and promote self-reliance in energy storage technologies.”

Riju Jhunjhunwala, Vice Chairman of LNJ Bhilwara Group, added, “Safety, reliability, and performance must be engineered into every project from the start, not left as afterthoughts. We are excited to mark this milestone at the Renewable Energy India Expo and look forward to collaborating with partners on a brighter, energy-secure future.”

The launch of RE5K underlines REPLUS Engitech’s commitment to advancing India’s clean energy transition while strengthening domestic capabilities in large-scale energy storage technology.
