

India Clinch 20 Medals, Including Four Gold, At U-20 Asian Wrestling Championships
India delivered a strong performance at the Under-20 Asian Wrestling Championships , finishing with an impressive tally of 20 medals , including four gold, seven silver and nine bronze , while securing top-three team finishes in both women's wrestling and men's freestyle categories.
The Indian women's team finished as runners-up with 184 points , narrowly missing out on the title to China (189 points) . Japan secured third place with 142 points . In the men's freestyle competition, India accumulated 152 points to finish third behind Kazakhstan (170 points) and Iran (164 points) .
India's gold-medal success in the women's section came through Parveen (50kg) , Muskan (53kg) and Kajal (76kg) . Parveen dominated Uzbekistan's Shokhista Shonazarova with a 13-2 victory , while Muskan edged Japan's Mai Ogawa 6-5 in a closely contested final. Kajal produced a commanding display to defeat Japan's Mahiru Fujita 5-0 and secure the title.
The women's team also earned three silver medals through Manya Rajput (57kg) , Savita (62kg) and Manisha (72kg) , all of whom finished second after losing their respective finals to Chinese wrestlers.
Among the bronze medal winners, Kajal (55kg) defeated Uzbekistan's Sakibjamal Esbosynova by fall, Komal (59kg) registered a 12-0 technical superiority victory over Kyrgyzstan's Akylai Chynybaeva, while Mansi Lather (65kg) overcame Korea's Yeonwoo Song 13-2 .
In the men's freestyle division, Sumit Kumar Laxman Bharaskar claimed India's lone gold medal, defeating Kazakhstan's Sungkar Seidakhmet 13-7 in the 70kg final .
India added three silver medals through Pushp (61kg) , Saurabh Yadav (79kg) and Ronak (125kg) . Bronze medals came from Rohit (57kg) , Adarsh Yuvraj Patil (74kg) and Lacky (97kg) after successful playoff victories.
Earlier in the Greco-Roman category , Akshay Rana (97kg) won silver, while Neeraj Patel (55kg) , Anuj (67kg) and Dheeraj Kumar Malik (67kg) secured bronze medals.
India had also enjoyed success at the U-15 Asian Wrestling Championships in Pattaya, finishing with 21 medals across all three disciplines.
