India produced a strong response after their opening loss, sweeping past Ukraine 3-0 in their second Group A match of the Uber Cup Finals on Saturday, keeping their campaign alive ahead of a crucial clash against China.

After a narrow 2-3 defeat to hosts Denmark in their opener, the Indian shuttlers showed control and composure to dominate Ukraine , who had earlier lost 0–5 to China.

The day began on a positive note with 18-year-old Unnati Hooda leading the charge for India . She edged past Polina Buhrova 21-19, 22-20 in a tightly contested 46-minute match, holding her nerve in the closing stages.

In the second singles, Tanvi Sharma faced a tougher battle but delivered for India , sealing a hard-fought win against Yevheniia Kantemyr 21-12, 17-21, 21-10 in 49 minutes. After dropping the second game, she bounced back strongly to dominate the decider.

The final singles match saw Devika maintain India’s momentum with a confident straight-game win over Mariia Stoliarenko 23-21, 21-13 in 38 minutes, sealing the tie.

With India securing all three singles victories, the remaining doubles matches were rendered inconsequential .

For Ukraine , the defeat marked their second straight loss, leaving them virtually out of quarterfinal contention. India will now face title favourites China on Monday in a decisive group-stage clash that will determine their fate in the tournament.
