With training underway at Patiala, India’s young boxers are geared up for the 3rd Asian Youth Games 2025 in Bahrain. The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has announced a 23-6on the continental stage.

The team was finalized based on performances at the 6th U-17 Junior Boys and Girls National Boxing Championship 2025. Gold medallists earned direct entry, while silver medallists were named as reserves in their respective weight categories.

Several athletes in the squad had also excelled at the Asian U-17 Championships in July 2025, where India secured 43 medals and finished second overall. Their performances underline India’s rising stature in youth boxing, challenging traditional Asian powerhouses.

“In the past few months, our young boxers have shown they can compete with the best in Asia, delivering strong results at both national and continental levels,” said Ajay Singh, BFI President. “This camp is about building on that momentum, refining their skills, and preparing them to be serious medal contenders in Bahrain, showcasing the rising strength of Indian boxing.”

The 14-member athlete squad, evenly split with seven boys and seven girls, is supported by six coaches, two physiotherapists, and a team doctor, ensuring a strong support system. Notable gold medallists include Dhruv Kharb, Udham Singh Raghav, Khushi Chand, Ahaana Sharma, and Chandrika Bhoreshi Pujari. Head coaches Vinod Kumar (Boys U-17) and Jitender Raj Singh (Girls U-17) are overseeing the final preparations.

With a blend of youth and experience, Team India is poised to turn potential into podium finishes at the Asian Youth Games, strengthening its position among Asia’s elite in junior boxing.
