With the series already decided, India will step into the fourth Women’s T20I against South Africa on Saturday aiming to salvage pride, regain rhythm, and correct course ahead of a crucial World Cup year.

Hosts South Africa hold a commanding 3-0 lead in the five-match series and are now eyeing a clean sweep at home, having outplayed India consistently in all departments so far. For India, however, the contest is about much more than the scoreboard, it is about rebuilding confidence after a string of disappointing performances.

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has urged her side to use the setbacks as a learning phase, insisting the team will look to “come back strong” before the upcoming T20 World Cup in England later this year. But execution has been India’s biggest concern throughout the series.

The batting unit has struggled to convert starts into substantial scores. Key players like Smriti Mandhana , Jemimah Rodrigues , and Richa Ghosh will be expected to deliver in unison if India are to challenge the hosts. The middle order, in particular, has lacked stability under pressure.

Bowling, too, has failed to make early inroads. While Deepti Sharma has provided control, India have often allowed South Africa to dominate the middle overs, losing grip on crucial phases of the game.

In contrast, South Africa have been clinical and composed. Captain Laura Wolvaardt has been in sensational form, producing scores of 51, 54, and a match-winning 115 off 53 balls in the third T20I. Her consistency at the top has set the tone for the series.

Support from Sune Luus and a disciplined bowling attack led by Ayabonga Khaka , Chloe Tryon , and Tumi Sekhukhune has further strengthened the hosts’ dominance.

As the fourth T20I approaches, South Africa will look to extend their superiority, while India fight to restore pride and end the tour on a positive note. Match begins at 9:30 pm IST .
