IIT Kanpur, Vietnam varsity join hands

In a significant step towards strengthening international academic cooperation, the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT-K) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vietnam National University (VNU). The agreement aims to promote collaboration in research, student exchange, and innovation-driven projects between the two premier institutions.

The MoU focuses on fostering joint research in science, engineering, and technology, while also encouraging faculty exchange programs and cross-border academic training. It will provide students from both institutions an opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, thereby gaining global exposure. Key areas of collaboration include artificial intelligence, clean energy, sustainable development, and emerging technologies.

Officials from IIT Kanpur emphasized that this partnership aligns with India’s vision of building strong academic ties with Southeast Asian nations under the Act East Policy. The collaboration is also expected to enhance cultural understanding and bring diverse perspectives to problem-solving in science and technology.

Vietnam National University, one of the leading higher education institutions in the region, welcomed the move, highlighting that the partnership would open new doors for joint innovation and knowledge-sharing. Both institutions expressed optimism that the collaboration would lead to impactful research benefiting both countries.
