IIPA prepares officers for the future

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh chaired the 327th Executive Council meeting of the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), fundamentally refocusing governance training toward the Viksit Bharat @ 2047 vision.

The Minister mandated the integration of AI, digital platforms, and data-driven tools into training modules. This crucial step is aimed at equipping administrators especially scientists and academicians transitioning to leadership roles with the advanced management and communication skills necessary for a digital-first, predictive administration. He also stressed the urgent need to sensitize officers on responsible social media engagement to effectively counter misinformation and preserve public trust.

The Council's key approvals signal expansion and recognition:

• The establishment of a new local branch in Nanded, Maharashtra, will decentralize capacity building, bringing training closer to grassroots and district-level governance.

• Annual awards recognized excellence, with the prestigious Paul H. Appleby Award (for distinguished service) going to Meenakshi Hooja and the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Award (for academic excellence) to Prof. Prakash C. Sarangi.

IIPA highlighted robust collaborations with bodies like NDMA and tech giants like Amazon AWS and HCL Technologies, reflecting a commitment to building a future-ready governance ecosystem through strategic public-private partnerships. The institute successfully trained 2,809 officials in 49 programmes between April and September 2025.
