
IIM-Calcutta sees highest internship stipend at rs 6 lakh per month
Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C) has successfully completed summer internship placements for its 62nd MBA batch, recording another year of strong recruitment despite a dynamic hiring environment. The premier B-school announced that the highest stipend offered this year touched an impressive Rs 6 lakh per month for an international role.
According to the institute’s official statement, a total of 470 students secured 510 internship offers from 183 recruiters, reflecting both trust and continued demand from top corporate giants. The average monthly stipend stood at Rs 1.85 lakh, while the median stipend reached Rs 2 lakh per month, signifying a healthy overall compensation structure. The highest domestic offer was recorded at Rs 4.5 lakh per month.
Firms hiring students ranged across major sectors including consulting, finance, fast-moving consumer goods, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, software, and technology. The diverse profile of offers showcases the wide appeal of IIM-C graduates among leading employers.
Sharing her delight over the successful placement season, Ritu Mehta, Chairperson of Placement Activities at IIM-Calcutta, said the remarkable performance of the MBA cohort has once again enabled excellent outcomes. “We are grateful to recruiters for continuing to believe in our students and trust our academic processes,” she noted.
She further emphasized that IIM-C remains committed to enabling a robust and student-friendly placement experience. “Our continuous effort is to maintain a smooth and strong placement process that benefits both students and recruiters,” Mehta added.
With another successful season concluded, IIM-Calcutta has reinforced its standing as one of the country’s most sought-after management institutions.
