IIM Calcutta empowers women leaders with 9th leadership batch
The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta), in collaboration with TimesPro, has opened admissions for the ninth batch of its prestigious executive education initiative- Transitioning into Leadership: A Programme for Women Executives (TLPWE).
This intensive 12-month, LIVE online programme is designed to empower mid-career women professionals with strategic leadership acumen, cross-functional business insights, and confidence to lead in senior decision-making roles.
Bridging the gender leadership gap
Despite steady progress, women continue to be underrepresented in leadership. The Grant Thornton Women in Business, 2024 report reveals that women occupy just 34% of senior roles globally. In India, representation has risen from 17% in 2017 to 28% in 2024, yet only one in four C-suite executives is a woman, according to the Global Gender Gap Report 2025 which is published by the World Economic Forum (WEF) . . These figures highlight the need for structured mentorship, leadership development, and organisational reform — goals that TLPWE directly addresses.
Programme highlights
TLPWE offers an immersive and inclusive space for reflection, collaboration, and growth. Participants gain exposure to leadership frameworks through modules such as Women in Management and Global Gender Perspectives, Leading and Managing Teams, Strategic Communication, Digital Transformation, and Legal and HR Perspectives. The course concludes with a Capstone Project and two on-campus immersion sessions at IIM Calcutta.
Participants, typically with 5–20 years of managerial experience, represent diverse sectors like IT, finance, healthcare, and hospitality. Learning is delivered via TimesPro’s advanced Direct-to-Device platform, ensuring real-time faculty engagement and peer learning through interactive lectures, case studies, and simulations.
Faculty insights
Professor Nimruji Prasad Jammulamadaka of IIM Calcutta said, “TLPWE helps women introspect on their leadership journeys while building future-centric capabilities like storytelling and digital agility.”
Assistant Professor Dr. Nandita Roy added, “As a new generation of aspirational women steps into leadership, it’s crucial they are equipped with contemporary tools and inclusive mindsets.”
