
IIM-A’s first international campus in Dubai
The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A), one of India’s top business schools, is set to open its first international campus in Dubai on September 11, 2025. The inauguration will be led by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan along with the UAE(United Arab Emirates)’s Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar.
Minister Pradhan is on a two-day visit to the UAE from September 10-11. His trip aims to strengthen educational partnerships, promote innovation, and create new opportunities for students from both countries.
On September 10, before the IIM-A launch, Pradhan will visit the IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi campus, where he will inaugurate the Atal Incubation Centre, the first of its kind outside India. He will also launch new PhD and B.Tech programmes and interact with students and faculty. Later, he will visit the BAPS (Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha) Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi and take part in the first anniversary of Symbiosis University’s Dubai campus.
The following day, September 11, the much-anticipated IIM-A Dubai campus will be formally opened. Both Indian and UAE ministers will also hold talks on expanding education collaborations between the two nations.
During his visit, Pradhan will join several other activities, including:
• A roundtable with Indian higher education institutions in the UAE.
• The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ plantation drive at the Indian Consulate.
• A Teachers’ Day celebration with CBSE school principals.
• The launch of Atal Tinkering Labs in Indian schools across the UAE.
The opening of IIM Ahmedabad’s Dubai campus marks a historic milestone. It is the first Indian Institute of Management to establish a global campus, highlighting India’s growing role in shaping international education.
