He is followed by Harry Brook in second place , while Australia’s Travis Head occupies third position . Former Australia skipper Steve Smith is ranked fourth , keeping the top order tightly packed.
India’s young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal remains steady at No. 8 with 750 points , while Shubman Gill is placed ninth with 730 points , after gaining a spot in the latest update. Both continue to anchor India’s representation in the top 10 batters.
Other prominent names in the upper batting order include Kane Williamson and Temba Bavuma , who remain within the broader top bracket as competition intensifies among Test specialists.
The latest update comes as India are yet to begin their 2026 World Test Championship campaign , having last played a Test series against South Africa at home in November.
