The Indian Air Force’s (IAF) Sarang Helicopter Display Team has arrived in Egypt to participate in the second edition of the El Alamein International Airshow, scheduled to be held from September 8 to 10 at El Alamein International Airport.

The participation marks another significant international engagement for the IAF and is expected to further strengthen defence and diplomatic ties between India and Egypt. The airshow will bring together leading air forces and professionals from the global aerospace, defence and space sectors.

Sarang, recognised as the world’s only five-helicopter display team, will showcase a series of precision manoeuvres and synchronised aerial sequences during the event. The team is known for demanding formation flying, close-proximity manoeuvres and highly coordinated displays that demonstrate the skill, discipline and professionalism of its pilots.

The team will operate the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv, an indigenously designed and manufactured platform developed in India. Its displays are expected to highlight the helicopter’s agility and versatility while showcasing the capabilities of the country’s growing indigenous aerospace industry.

Among the highlights of the performance will be Sarang’s signature “Dolphin Leap” manoeuvre. The team will also introduce a new aerial manoeuvre, the “Spot Stall Turn”, during its display in Egyptian skies.
